Vlisco over the years has been known as a brand that doesn’t compromise on quality. With their unique designs and creativity, they have succeeded in creating a brand that is original and respected worldwide.

Growing up in Ghana, our parents (mothers especially) wore their “Holland” (Vlisco) clothes only to special events. It was obvious it was a special type of fabric, an original that our mothers were proud to own. But today, Vlisco is making it more accessible for everyday wear.

Have you heard about Vlisco’s Pret-A-Couture (PAC) Fashion?

Exciting right?

Every garment is made with care and love to guarantee Vlisco’s quality standards. And even better, these tailors are trained to assist you choose the right style for your body type.  4.   It is as easy as A, B, C

All you need to do is walk into the Vlisco Boutique at the Accra Mall, with your favourite Vlisco fabric or select a fabric from the store, Tuesdays to Saturdays between 10am and 6pm.
Select a style and be measured by a tailor in store.

THROWBACK! TO MY LAGOS FASHION AND DESIGN WEEK 2015 DIARY

I just came across a photo I took in Lagos last year and it reminded me that I didn't blog about my time at the Lagos fashion and Design week 2015.

It was a super fun and enjoyable trip to Lagos with my Ghana team, which included MUA & Hair Stylist Hamid Vijay, Designer and stylist Doneal, Blogger and TV producer Chriskata, Model Karen Abiba , Blogger and Creative director Nuel Bans of Debonair Afrik and Model and Pr student Ekow Barnes.

It being my first time in Nigeria, I was definitely excited yet I didn't know what to anticipate . So thankful for all the people I only knew virtually and got to meet in person, the okada rides and five days of living on bread and malt/coke because the food wasn't what I was used to :-).
On the next trip I will try all the delicacies including the infamous Nigeria Jollof.

Fashion week was funnnn! The designers were on top of their game , I was blown away by so many of the collections on the runway, the models and the makeup.

Designs from Mai Atafo, Loza Maleombho, Andrea Iyamah Swimwear , Maki Oh, weizdhurm, Orange Culture to name a few were very impressive.

It was in all a very well organized  event. I especially enjoyed the street style segment as we hardly get that during fashion weeks in Ghana.

Thanks so much to DZPRT Fashion for choosing me as the individual with the best street style during fashion week , well I came prepared :-) .

And to Sterling Bank I love my phone case , I showed it off wherever I went. I pray  you'll be at fashion week this year, my phone case has seen the worst of the Ghana sun.

Thanks to my Ghanaian designers Hazza, House of Paon ,dzign Apparel and Bohten who provided my outfits/accessories .

I can't wait to visit Lagos again for the LFDW 2016, to meet more beautiful people and hopefully stay longer to work on some projects with creatives.

Love....Laurie x

I came across this really amazing brand on Instagram and decided to share it with you.
What caught my eye was the simplicity yet depth that their brand came across as.
DZIGN APPAREL is a UK based fashion brand, that was started in 2005, by a group of creatives from their love of creative arts.
They produce exclusive trendy fashion wear for both sexes using pure organic cotton, as they believe strongly in fair trade wear.
If you love T-shirts and sweatshirts like i do,, then you're going to dote on the creativity and individuality of their designs.
Their current designs illustrate hand and finger prints in an interesting way and was inspired by the hand that creates the designs for the brand.

GLITZ AFRICA FASHION WEEK 2014 DAY 1, AFRO MOD TRENDS

VERSATILIS by Afro Mod Trends was the epitome of elegance. I simply called it the "Lady"
Mostly bodycon dresses , we love the shades of pink, red and grey that was used and how the lace, african print and spandex/lycra were used to give it a lady-like look.
Good job Afro Mod,i'd definitely be rocking one of these dresses soon.
